Activities

Fish the river and Bowlin Pond anytime, or make arrangements to fish beautiful Grand Lake Matagamon, with a guide, from the camp motor boat.

Three people carrying tubes in the river for a ride.Ride the river in one of our inner tubes. Exciting!

Hike to one of the waterfalls upriver for some fantastic photography! Feel the spray, and in the right light, see a rainbow! Our kitchen will prepare you a picnic lunch to enjoy by the falls.

Stargaze in the blackest of nights with zero man made light pollution. When the power shuts down at dark, step outside and be amazed at the stars of Maine's spectacular nighttime sky! You may even experience the "Aurora Borealis" (The Northern Lights). Bring your telescope!

Swim at the ol' swimming hole for hours of fun for the whole family.

Mountain bike and explore the endless miles of logging roads and skidder trails.

The "Lookout" We'll guide you over the suspension bridge to the "Lookout" for fantastic views of Mt. Katahdin, Wassatoquoik Valley, and Katahdin Lake. Ask about our 'Photo Op Lunch' or 'Sunset Dinner' atop the "Lookout".

Canoe a one or two day guided or un-guided river trip.

Shoot a moose with your camera! Our guides know where the moose are and when they are there. Scout the back roads with a guide on a photo safari! No guarantees, but the chances are good.

Learn the basics of Mushing. After meeting the dogs, and a brief course on harnessing and team hook up, we will travel trails through the North Maine Woods surrounding Mt. Katahdin. Simply enjoy the ride or actually drive the team! (Depending on your desire and ability.) Experience the beauty of the Great North Woods in winter and the thrill of dog sledding.
